I am not a doggy type. In fact I do not like any animals in my house. A good, nice doggy is one which is at least 30 M away. But then dogs too are part of the world. You can ignore them, but cannot wish them away. They are not even the 42 young urchins, so you cannot call wild bears on them, can you?? Then everybody, not being prophets, cannot even call the bears.
A few days ago two headlines on ninemsn.com caught my eye. One was a child-abuse story off Fox news (foxnews.com) about how five-year-olds were being slipped ‘silly pills’ and made to perform sexually provocative dances at a Texan swingers club. [The said club is in Texas].
The other story, which was originally reported in Daily Express (express.co.uk), was of a dog in Argentina, who saved a new born baby that had been abandoned and dumped in a dustbin. The dog, China, picked up the baby and kept it warm through the night, along with her own pups. Gives the phrase ‘animal instinct’ a whole new spin. Dogs can beat humans in many departments. They definitely never launched crusades or inquisitions.
